# Property matrix

> A layer-by-layer map of inspector sections, timeline controls, and animation support.

The Inspector is selection-driven. A section appears only when the selected layer type supports it; a mixed selection exposes the safe intersection or purpose-built bulk controls.

`✓` indicates an authorable section in the video-draft editor. Individual fields can still be read-only because of selection count, source metadata, or the current frame-layout mode.

Face tracking is status-driven rather than universally actionable. An eligible uploaded and processed video can expose detection for `9:16`, `4:5`, or `1:1`; enabling it changes composition dimensions, can update the composition frame rate, and fill-fits the selected video. See [Face tracking and automatic reframing](/editor/layers/video-face-tracking).

Coordinates and dimensions are stored in composition pixels, independent of the on-screen preview scale. Rotation is in degrees. Scale and opacity are evaluated values; the exact editor control may display a friendlier unit.

Fill-like color fields for text, captions, solids, frames, and text backgrounds support a two-stop linear gradient. Stroke and shadow colors are solid-only. See [Colors and gradients](/editor/effects/colors-gradients) for alpha, angle, presets, and grouped Undo behavior.

Moving a child in a layout-managed frame changes its layout membership or order rather than establishing an arbitrary absolute position. Read [Auto layout](/editor/canvas/auto-layout) and [Grid layout](/editor/canvas/grid-layout) before converting a populated frame.

## Animation support

Base property keyframes cover transform, opacity, rotation, scale, border radius, stroke width, and crop edges. Effect parameter keys are keyframeable when the effect defines them as animatable. Shadow X, Y, and blur can also create lanes.

Keyframes store whole evaluated frames and use the destination keyframe's easing for the segment leading into it. See [Animatable properties](/editor/animation/animatable-properties) and [Easing](/editor/animation/easing).

Timeline visual-fade handles are supported for video, image, GIF, text, and solid layers. Use opacity keyframes for frames and captions. Audio and video-audio fades use separate audio handles. See [Visual fade handles](/editor/timeline/visual-fades).

## Multiple selection

The multi-selection inspector groups controls by compatibility:

* Timing and transforms can apply to eligible visual layers as a group.
* Alignment and distribution need multiple visual layers.
* Typography appears only when the selection has compatible text-bearing layers.
* Type-specific sections disappear for mixed selections when a safe shared edit is unavailable.
* Layer order operations use the applicable stacking context; frame relationships can constrain the result.
