# Publishing

> Post finished videos and images from Tessact straight to your social channels, with per-platform metadata filled in for you.

## Overview

Publishing closes the loop between making content and shipping it. Once an asset is ready, select **Publish to Social**, pick the connected accounts you want, review the pre-filled details for each platform, and post. No downloading, re-uploading, or retyping the same title nine times.

</Frame>

* **One button, many channels:** publish the same asset to multiple accounts and platforms in a single flow.
* **Metadata done for you:** Tessact autofills each platform's fields (title, description, thumbnail) so you review instead of retype.
* **Native platform options:** YouTube visibility, audience, and category; Instagram Reels or Story; the right fields appear per platform.
* **Accounts stay linked:** connect a channel once and it is ready for every future post in your workspace.

## Connect your social accounts

The first time you publish, link the channels you post to. You can connect up to five accounts per platform.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the publishing flow">
    Select **Publish to Social** on an asset. The **Choose where to publish** screen lists your **Linked Accounts** and, below them, **Link New Accounts**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Link a platform">
    Choose **Link YouTube**, **Link Instagram**, **Link Twitter**, **Link LinkedIn**, **Link Facebook**, **Link Threads**, **Link TikTok**, **Link Pinterest**, or **Link Reddit**. Each card shows how many of the five slots are in use, such as *1 / 5*. Tessact sends you to the platform's own sign-in to authorise posting, then returns you to exactly where you left off and reopens the flow.

    </Frame>
  </Step>

  <Step title="Pick a Page or Board where needed">
    Facebook asks you to **Choose a page** (the Facebook Page Tessact should post to) and Pinterest asks for a Board. You can change either later from the account's card.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Info>
  Accounts are linked to the workspace, so a channel connected once is available to your teammates' posts too. To remove one, hover its card and select **Unlink account**.

## Publish a post

<Steps>
  <Step title="Choose where to publish">
    Select one or more linked accounts under **Linked Accounts**. The footer keeps count and confirms your selection, for example **Continue with 1 accounts**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Review the details for each channel">
    The flow walks you through **Edit details for** each selected account in turn, with a live preview of the post beside the form. Adjust anything you like, then move on with **Next channel** (or **Back** to revisit the previous one). Your edits are kept per account as you navigate.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Post">
    On the last account, select **Post**. Tessact confirms with *Your post is being published. This may take a few seconds*, then *Your post is published*.
    <Check>The post goes out to every selected account. Open the platform to see it live.</Check>
  </Step>

## The metadata stage, autofilled

You do not have to fill in every platform's metadata by hand. When the details screen opens, Tessact has already completed it for you:

* **Title and description** are pre-filled from the asset. For AI Repurpose clips they are the AI-written title and summary of that clip, ready to post as-is.
* **Thumbnail** starts as the asset's poster frame. Replace it with your own if you prefer: 1280 by 720 pixels, under 2 MB, PNG or JPG.
* **Platform defaults** are sensible out of the box: YouTube visibility starts at **Public**, Instagram starts as a **Reel** with **Share to feed** on.

Your job is a quick review per channel, not data entry. Anything you change is kept per account as you move Back and Next through the flow.

### What each platform asks for

| Platform | Fields on the details screen |
| ----------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| **YouTube** | Title, Description, thumbnail, Tags, **Visibility** (Private, Unlisted, Public), **Audience** (the made-for-kids declaration), and **Advanced settings** for altered or synthetic content and a video **Category** |
| **Instagram** | Content type (**Reels** or **Story**) and a **Share to feed** toggle, plus title and thumbnail |
| **All other platforms** | Title and thumbnail; the title becomes the post text |

<Info>
  YouTube's **Audience** step is a legal requirement: you must declare whether the video is made for kids under COPPA. The **Advanced settings** accordion also lets you flag realistic altered or AI-generated content, matching YouTube's disclosure rules.

## Good to know

* **Posts publish immediately.** There is no scheduler yet; when you select **Post**, it goes out now.
* **One post per account.** Each selected account gets its own copy, so a mixed YouTube plus Instagram selection produces one video post and one Reel.
* **Verify on the platform.** Tessact confirms the hand-off with a toast; the published post itself lives on the destination platform.
* **Supported media.** Publishing is available for video and image assets.
